Returning to School on Monday

Watt Families,
We are so excited to be going back to school on Monday and look forward to seeing all the Watt students again in person.  There are a couple of items that will help us ensure a smooth transition for your child back to school.
As the Ministry has made it mandatory for students to be wearing masks at all times, including outdoors where social distancing is not possible, we recommend that you send more than one mask with your child.  Masks may require changing throughout the day for various reasons.  Having a conversation with your child about when their mask needs to be changed as well as providing them with a ziploc bag for a wet/dirty mask will help them as they transition back to wearing a mask.  A reminder also that masks must fit securely to the head with ties or ear loops, maintain their shape after washing and drying, be made of at least two layers of tightly woven material (such as cotton or linen), and be large enough to completely and comfortably cover the nose and mouth without gaping as per the Return to School protocol.
As we return to school during a lockdown, we are asking if you drop off or pick up your child, to please minimize your interactions and remain in your vehicle, unless you need to help your child in or out.  If you need to communicate with school staff or another parent, you are encouraged to call or email.  As much as we would love to catch up, we would like to support the reopening for all by doing our part.
Finally, for those who have borrowed one of the school’s Chromebooks and do not wish to send it with your child, you are welcome to drop it off at any time during the day on Monday.  Upon arrival, please call into the school and someone will be happy to meet you at the door to collect the Chromebook.
I look forward to welcoming staff and students back to school!  If you have any needs or concerns that I can support you with, please do not hesitate to reach out.
