Declaration of Provincial Emergency

On behalf of Director Hahn and the Senior Admin Team:

On January 12, the Government of Ontario, in consultation of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and other health experts, declared a second provincial emergency related to COVID-19.

The announcement included a stay-at-home order effective January 14 at 12:01 a.m., requiring everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for exercise or for essential work. Details are outlined in the provincial news release.

The provincial government will be updating the Ministry of Education by January 20 on whether all schools will be open to in-person learning starting on January 25. Further information will be shared with staff as provided.
